Effective September 2, 2026.
These terms govern use of the Paladin software. If you install Paladin, they apply to you. If you buy a subscription, they are the license your order points at, and checkout records your acceptance.
Paladin is made and licensed by Cortexa Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Cortexa Labs, Inc., and "Paladin" means the software we distribute under the paladin-ai package name, together with its documentation and default policies.
These terms are an agreement between us and you, or the company you act for. If you accept them during checkout, that acceptance is recorded with your order.
You can install Paladin at no charge with pip install paladin-ai. The free install is licensed for evaluation and other non-production use: trying Paladin, testing it against your agents, and deciding whether it fits.
The free install is the full product. It has no license key, no meter, no seat limit, and no expiry. We do not gate evaluation, and we do not time-bomb it.
Running Paladin to enforce policy on production agents requires an active paid subscription, purchased through the checkout on this site. One subscription covers your company's production use for as long as it stays active.
The subscription is billed monthly at the price shown at checkout and renews automatically each month. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for.
Paladin is a security control, so nothing in the software checks your subscription. If your subscription lapses, Paladin keeps enforcing exactly as before. A missed payment never turns enforcement off, weakens a policy, or changes what the software blocks. We built it this way on purpose: a security control that stops working over billing would be a security hole.
Production use without an active subscription is a breach of these terms, and we handle it as a contract matter, by contacting you and, if needed, by ending this license. The software itself takes no part in that.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not:
Paladin, its code, its default policies, and its documentation belong to Cortexa Labs, Inc. These terms license Paladin to you; they do not sell it. Everything not expressly granted stays with us.
Your policies, your configuration, and your audit logs are yours. Paladin runs self-hosted, and nothing it processes is sent to us.
Paladin is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will catch every attack, block every unsafe action, or fit any particular purpose. Published benchmark results describe measured runs, not guarantees.
You stay responsible for your agents and for what they do. Paladin is one control in your stack, not a substitute for deciding what your agents may touch.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Cortexa Labs, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from Paladin or these terms. Our total liability under these terms is capped at the amount you paid us for Paladin in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms apply from the moment you install or use Paladin and continue until ended. You can end them at any time by cancelling your subscription and stopping use. We can end them if you materially breach them and do not cure the breach within thirty days of notice.
When these terms end, the production grant ends with them. The sections on ownership, warranty, liability, and governing law survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction.
We may update these terms as Paladin evolves. The effective date at the top tells you when they last changed. A material change to a paid subscription applies from your next renewal, not retroactively.
